Frequently asked questions about splints & guards

We provide a range of splints and night guards, including:
- Hard Acrylic (ideal for patients with severe bruxism or grinding)
- Soft (Thermoplastic) (comfortable for mild to moderate bruxism or protection)
- Dual Laminate (combination of soft inner layer and hard outer layer for both comfort and durability)
- Anterior Bite Guards (used for specific occlusal adjustments)
- Sports Guards (custom-fit for high-impact activities)
Yes, we provide durable splints and night guards designed specifically to protect the teeth from grinding and reduce the wear and tear caused by bruxism. We can also offer guidance on which material is best for your patient based on their severity of grinding.
While both are designed to protect teeth and joints, splints are often used to manage TMJ disorders and to stabilize the jaw. Night guards, on the other hand, are primarily used to protect teeth from grinding and clenching during sleep. Both are custom-fitted based on the patient’s bite and needs.
Our standard turnaround time is typically 5–7 business days. Rush services are available upon request—please contact us for availability and additional details.
- Soft night guards are typically recommended for mild to moderate bruxism and patients who need a comfortable, flexible solution.
- Hard acrylic night guards are best for severe grinders who need maximum durability and protection.
- Dual laminate guards offer a combination of both flexibility and strength, ideal for patients who need a balance of comfort and protection.
Our team can also provide guidance based on your patient’s specific needs.
If the fit is uncomfortable or there are issues with occlusion, please have the patient return the guard along with a detailed description of the problem. We offer adjustments and remakes to ensure the guard is comfortable and effective in providing protection.
